Think What You Will

Even when I had thought I was coming out of the woods with my body image, I’m reminded it will take time. It’s part of the process. Patience. Okay, so I said I’ll have to keep coming back to awareness – analyzing situations clearly instead of while they are out of focus. Yesterday I ran

Then and Now – breaking down walls

This one is dedicated to @Coco. I felt SO good with my workout last night! I left just knowing that I’ll be back in the game before too long. I finally came to terms with letting go of what others think I should do, or where I should start, and I just went with it.

My Paleo Adventure Begins

I’m on Day 2 of a 30 day challenge to heal and promote a better quality of life for myself. I had already begun my Paleo adventure on Friday. Sunday I had a terrible migraine in which I caved in to some donuts for comfort – the emotional eating monster still lurks in the dark.

Getting Physical for the First Time… Again

Last Tuesday I pulled out a workout from my library – one I’ve done before with ease. I modified it drastically, knowing I’ve lost strength, endurance and I needed a toned down workout program. I cut the sets down to 2 and knocked the weights down to more moderate weights. 4 exercises and I was

Trusting My Inner Cave Woman

We all know the true definition of “diet”. But in case you don’t, it goes something like this – “food and drink regularly provided or consumed”. So you see a diet is merely what you eat. I think this word carries a negative connotation. When I hear the word “diet” I instantly think “calorie restriction”.

March On

Have you ever driven a route so often that when you arrived at your destination you couldn’t remember how you had even gotten there? As if you were on auto pilot. (I know I’m not the only one!) I’ve found myself at my destination praying I stopped at all the stop lights along the way

Red Light! Green Light!

Welllllll….. where do I start? I had my last Dr. appt. at the end of last month. I was hopeful of getting my thyroid treatments, but instead she changed nothing. I was totally disappointed, but she made her points clear. Main point being she wanted to give the adrenals a little more time to get

Intolerance and Nutrient Deficiency Results

I got the hair analysis tests back Friday. I was informed that an “intolerance” was different than an “allergy”.   “An intolerance is a response that the body gives over time to an item that it is not comfortable with. An allergy shows instantly or within an hour or two, an intolerance builds over time.

Hairy Mail

I just mailed the hair samples off to get tested! In case you missed why I’m doing this, you can catch up here, A Hairy Decision. The process was fairly painless. We filled out a form with basic questions, age, supplements and any conditions or symptoms we have. The instructions for the hair removal was

Choice in Ownership

It took 100% ownership to lose over 100lbs and accomplish many more tasks I hadn’t realized I had set out to achieve. This was MY goal I was going to reach even if it killed me! Obviously, right? But I’ve spent some time questioning what I should and should NOT take full ownership of.

My “Soul of the World” Speaks & I Listen

It’s hard to think that there’s not a reason I ended up with adrenal fatigue, even if I was one that didn’t have the belief system that “all things happen for a reason”. I haven’t posted a blog yet, but I’ve chosen my word of the year for 2011. I contemplated several other words; healing,

It’s a Hairy Decision

I made a risky decision tonight.  I purchased an intolerance hair analysis test from The Intolerance Testing Group located in Europe!  I’m feeling brave… or maybe that’s desperate? Hair analysis is supposed to be (in this case) superior to blood tests for the main reason that your blood is constantly adjusting to maintain balance –

Not “All for Nothing”

Today I’m seeing the purpose of my weight loss journey more fully. As a result of my long term, HARD CORE dieting and training, in preparation for competition for the last 3 years (seriously!), I end up with adrenal fatigue and a thyroid that is dysfunctional. I have spent many hours/days/weeks wondering what it was

Valentine of Mine

I was challenged to write a Valentine’s love letter to myself by @CocosFight2BFit via @tryin2bfit’s blog post, Happy Valentine’s Day To Me.  I think this is perfect since I’m working on being more active in self-love – as I see the importance of this in my healing. Dear Valentine, Have I told you lately what

Friday’s Dr. Follow Up Appt.

I finally got in to see my Dr. (Cedar) Friday for our follow up appt. I love the time this woman spends with me – genuinely interested in teaching me! For the first time ever, I had actually seen some progress this week in the delayed onset of my daily crashes by up to 2
